Accomplishments
I have adopted the practice of documenting my journey and celebrating my successes - large or small. Here are two accomplishments that I consider ‘big’:
Majestic and Magical
One of my proudest achievements was the release of my photography book, Majestic and Magical. It is the culmination of two years of hard work and the book became the catalyst that convinced me that a full-time career as a photographer was possible. Read more →
REBIRTH - a timelapse film
One other achievement that I am extremely proud of is the completion and release of a short timelapse film, REBIRTH. I became enthralled with timelapse film-making in April 2017 and after several months of trials and attempts, I produced a short film that sought to highlight Dominica’s recovery after being ravaged by Hurricane Maria. 2020
- December: Two of my images were accepted and will be exhibited by the Toronto International Salon of Photography.
- November: Online publication, Bouyon Nation, featured me and my work in an article entitled, Yuri A Jones - Discovering the Man Behind the Lens.
- October: I launched a charitable program with the Dominica Infirmary whereby 3% of my online sales of Dominica images would go towards that institution.
- September: Out of hundreds of submitted images, 3 of my photographs were accepted and will be exhibited by the PETRUS International Contest of Art Photography.
- August: One of my images won first prize in the OECS Commission and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) photography competition with the theme 'Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change'.

May: My image of L'escalier Tete Chien received an Honorable Mention in the International Photography Awards One Shot / Movement Photo Contest.
2019
- October: Cabrits Resort and Spa Kempinski opened its doors to the public and featured prints of several of my images throughout the hotel complex as part of its permanent exhibition.
- August: A few of my images of Dominica and Nevis appeared in Harper's Bazaar ELLE online publication.

February: Launched my aerial videography service by creating a promotional trailer for a local company.

January: Began my full time career as a photographer by hosting the official photoshoot for Mas Jamboree 2019.
2018

August: REBIRTH was aired on widely popular regional television network, CaribVision.

July: Released my third timelapse film, "REBIRTH" with original lyrics by Dominican singer/songwriter, Golda.

March: I was contracted by The New York Times to capture a series of photos that was eventually published in print and digital editions of the newspaper.
2017

November: Released my second timelapse film, "Dominica on the Move II".

October: Released my first timelapse film, "Dominica on the Move".

August: Officially launched my photography book, "Majestic and Magical: Come Explore the Nature Isle".

June: Won the Visual Arts Award at the 2017 National Youth Council Awards.

April: Discovered and began experimenting with timelapse photography. Here's one example of the Milky Way.
2016

November: Worked with Ken Guiste of Calibishie Cove and LaDana Drigo on a series of videos and images to promote the boutique hotel.

September: Partnered with Range Developments to complete the funding of my first photography book.

July: Received prominent mentions in travel media (Rum Shop Ryan and Caribbean Journal) for the fundraising of my photography book.

May: Completed the design and layout of my first photography book. Launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for publishing.
2015

December: Image was accepted and exhibited at the prestigious 10th FIAP Inter-Club World Photo Cup in Athens, Greece.

May: Participated in the National Tourism Tradeshow and Cocktail.
