When was the last time you had a "happy accident"? In case you're not sure what that is, here's a definition I found online:
For me, that "beneficial outcome" has been a couple of moon photographs that were completely unexpected. Check them out below 🙂
Orange Moon I
On December 29, as I headed out to do some sunrise photography (it wasn't yet 6:00 AM), I was lucky and happened to catch the faint glow of an orange moon sliding towards the horizon.
This was a hasty shot - I set up my tripod exactly where I stood and I was able to fire off only two shots before the moon disappeared. I love the drama in the clouds and the stillness of the neighborhood.

Orange Moon II
Yesterday morning (January 22) at approximately 1:00 AM, I walked into the kitchen to get a drink of water and saw an orange glow on the sea. I knew it had to be the moon and dashed out to the porch in order to get a better view.
Instead of capturing the same scene as three weeks before, I drove to the Bayfront and got there with just enough time to capture the moon before it sank below the cruise ship berth. Street lamps illuminated the water just in front of me, giving the image an otherworldly feeling.
